If you tired of the polished and weak popular wetern or even african songs, congolese music is like a big wake up slap to these polished songs. Congolese music can be crazy , wild and if you heard it first time, you may be like "wow, I have never heard nothing like this before". Its not easy listening at all. Congolese music seems like to break all  rules of "how to do a hit music" and still its creating so many hits. It may seem like european music doesnt care about congolese music , but its more like that congolese music doesnt care about european music. You will never hear a copy of western melodies in congolese music. Congolese music is a world for itself. Congolese music says to the world: We dont care if you gonna like our music or not. We do it our way and its up to you if you gonna listen to it or no.

Werason : Le, Le, Le, Le, Le ... when Werrason made a "casting" to choose  10 female dancers to do the choreography for his video Le, Le, Le, Le, Le and to acompany him on his european tour, more than 500.000 people joined the casting ! Thats what I call beeing a star in his own country ;) Thats Werrason: loved in Congo , not-loved in European Congo Diaspora. In U.K. they even cancell his concert blaming him for open support the congolese regime ( not so popular in Europe) and her dancers of beeing vulgar ( to be fair I must admit that some of the dances are really 18+ only )

You can blame Werrason from many things ( which star is not controversal ), but its also true he is a founder and donator of o shelter for more than 400 homelss street kids. And he does a great music:

If you thing congolese music is all about dance madness and craziness dont worry , there is also a romintic side of the music ... like the song La Vie Est Belle from congolese own Fally Ipupa

Hi theeeeere , in November it is getting cold in Prague , please let me share with you some songs to warm your soul as a good cup of tea, enjoy ;)

After Afrobailar Prague festival  kizomba music is still in my head. Tldreamz is a great example how smooth and catchy this music can be.

If worldmusic is about cooperation and dialougue between music styles and cultures , this cooperation between touareg group Tinariwen and indian Kiran Ahluwalia is the highest art of this dialougue to me.

The days of african low quality music videos are over , the new videos form the motherland from last few years are on the same level as a the newset western production and would fit by its quality to any MTW channels. The budget on this  P-Square video had to be few milions dolars (or naira) at least, I quess.

If you prefer more minimalistc videos , I recomend yout this Youssoun Ndours masterpiece called Xale Bi

And back to the Afobailar, Les Hiritiers Du Throne showed us that coupé-decalé is not dead at all ;)
